The audacious, edgy, and explosive Afro-Cuban actor and playwright Jorge Enrique Caballero made his U.S. Debut at Ideal Glass in April 2018, with two performances of his monumental play Kid Chocolate.

Based on the spectacular life and career of boxer Eligio Sardiñas Montalvo, the late Cuban World Lightweight Champion, the 40-minute piece was performed in Spanish with simultaneously projected subtitles and translated narration.

In addition to Kid Chocolate, Caballero has written 3 other plays based on historical Cuban figures and has acted in numerous films.
